Many belated thanks to Kerry for contributing another logbook from his collection. This logbook was owned by Arthur Bernard, rear Gunner with Alan Single’s crew. The crew arrived at Mepal on the 28th September 1943 (Alan, the Pilot arriving 6 days earlier. 2 months later, 6 of this original crew were lost on an Op to Berlin.

slight mistake here! sgt d harrington was replaced by srt i holbrook on the final flight (berlin 22.12.1943) further down it states d harrington died…this is incorrect as desmond harrington was my uncle…he recently passed away after a long illness, regards stephen say

just found this reply!! i do apologise for missing this, yes dessies full name was desmond norman robert harrington, by the way he was given leave due to severe headaches otherwise he would certainly have been on the fatal bombing run over berlin, regards steve
