I was probably watching them take off as I lived in Sutton on Ely Rd next to the houses that the Lanc crashed into in Oct 1943.

Did this plane return. I suspect the navigator was my father who I never knew.

Hello John – Yes the Barton crew returned safely from Homberg that night, completing a further 16 Ops, to bring up a total of 29 before leaving the Squadron. Sadly I have not further information on John.
