What follows is a list of all aircrew that flew with 75(NZ) Squadron RAF during World War 2. In researching and gathering information for the individuals in this list, a series of limits and parameters have had to be applied, in order to maximise the level of ‘completedness’. To this end, the nominal roll lists all individuals that flew, or began to fly within the date range 4th of April 1940 (the date of formation of 75(NZ) Squadron RAF) to 30th of June 1945 (the last recorded post war sortie recorded in the Form 541 document.
To this end, in this first iteration, it will exclude all those who, whilst posted to the Squadron, did not fly operationally and those that were posted to the Squadron as part of Tiger Force after the cessation of operations in Europe. The only exceptions will be those individuals killed while on posting with the Squadron, whose death was not as a result of operations.
The list, in its first instance, has been built from an extraction of ‘first occurrence’ of names from the 540 database, created to produce the crew pages on the site. Secondary research will be undertaken, using the AIR78 series of RAF Personnel records, The London Gazette and published works to add details regarding each individual in the list. It is, sadly inevitable that the information will vary significantly from one entry to another – I therefore would encourage contact from anybody that has additional information for individuals or groups within the list.
This will be a significant and ongoing project. Progress regarding details published below is currently as follows:
A,B,C,DE,F,G,H,I,J,K,L,M,N,O,P,Q,R,S,T,U,V,W,Y,Z – First list (Initials, surname, airforce, service number, trade)
