Four aircraft were detailed to attack the above target. Bomb load of 1,000lb. 500lb. were dropped in the target area by three of the aircraft, the Captain of the other aircraft being forced to jettison his bombs in the Alps, as one engine cut out and he was unable to maintain height with his bomb load. This raid was very successful, large fires being seen in the whole of the town, it appeared to be on fire from end to end. It is thought by the crews that both the Lancia and Fiat works were ablaze. There was some light A.A. fire at the target, but heavy and light A.A. fire was encountered at Dieppe and Amien area. Only one searchlight was seen at Turin. A few enemy aircraft were seen but no combats took place. The weather was cloudy to the Alps, it then cleared and was clear but hazy at Turin. Navigation was good by D.R. T.R. and Astro. Stirling I, BK608 captained by flight Sergeant Blincoe ran short of Petrol when nearing base, the engines were failing and the aircraft was losing height, when at 900 feet be gave his crew the option of bailing out, two of the crew, the Navigator and the Rear Gunner baled out at 600 feet and landed safely, about 3 miles North of Stradishall, the aircraft crash landed at Stradishall, none of the remainder of the crew being injured.

OUTSTANDING EVENTS
CONVERSION OF SQUADRON FROM WELLINGTON TO STIRLING AIRCRAFT.
The Conversion is still progressing satisfactorily at Conversion Unit, Oakington. After converting to Stirlings 7 crews of “B” Flight arrived at Rowley Mile with their aircraft on the 8th of November 1942. The conversion had gone according to plan and with a most commendable lack of trouble of any sort. The remainder of the aircrew and the ground staff of “B” Flight arrived at Rowley Mile on the 10th of November 1942.
“A” Flight is still continuing its conversion at Oakington, they appear to be having trouble owing to bad weather and various other snags which are holding up training. A particularly unfortunate incident was when Sergeant Broady and his crew were killed when their Stirling aircraft crashed whilst training at Oakington on the 28th of November.
“A” Flight is expected to arrive at Rowley Mile at the beginning of December.
TRAINING.
A good deal of training has been carried out by “B” Flight at Rowley Mile this month, the unfavourable weather holding up Operations.
OPERATIONS.
After being detailed for operations on two occasions, which were later scrubbed, “B” Flight were detailed on the 20th. November for the Squadron’s first operation with Stirlings.. The target chosen was Turin, Pilot Officer Trott being the first 75(NZ) Squadron aircraft to take off on real business, the other aircraft taking part were captained by Flight Sergeant Bailey, Sergeant Franklin and Flight Lietenant Parish. Great credit is due to all ground crew and ground service personnel for the success of all four aircraft in getting away on the first operation, although the results were not impressive, as only two aircraft reached the target. Three further operations were carried out during the month, but bad weather has been against us this month, much to the disgust of the aircrews..
VISITS
On the 28th. November 1942, the Squadron was visited by the Air Officer Commanding No.3 Group, Air Vice Marshal, The Honourable R.A. Cochrane, C.B.E., A.F.C.
