SPILSBY

1.10.45.
Weather. Cloudy with slight mist during day. Cloud dispersing to nil and fog forming at 18.00hrs. Cloud mainly 10/10 at 1,000 – 5,000 ft. and visibility moderate furing day.
NON-OPERATIONAL FLYING. Five Cross Countries were carried out. Two aircraft proceeded to R.A.F. Station Wiagaley carting passengers New Zealand Ppersonnel on posting, who were unable to proceed with the main party on the 28th September, 1945.
DISBANDMENT OF SQUADRON. Information was received from Headquarters No. 5 Group that No. 75(N.Z.) Squadron was to be disbanded with effect from the 15th. October, 1945 and that the remaining New Zealand personnel on Squadron, who had volunteered to remain in England and serve with the R.A.F. were to be posted to R.A.F. Station, Wigaley pending repariation on the 4th. October 1945

WEATHER. Fog clearing at 5.00 hrs., lifting and forming 10/10ths. Low cloud about 800ft. and finally 10/10 at above 2,000ft., dispersing to nil at 21.00hrs. Visibility moderate becoming good.
NON-OPERATIONAL FLYING. 2 Ruhr Cross Countries were carried out.

3.10.45
WEATHER. Mainly cloudy during day, with good visibility. Cloud 8-10.10 at 3,000ft., becoming cloudless at 20.00hrs. woth poor visibility.
NON-OPERATIONAL FLYING. Six aircraft took part in Formation and Local Flying.

4.10.45
WEATHER. Thick fog, gradually clearing to 5 miles by 13.00hrs. remaining cloudy with moderate visibilty. Cloud base 3,000ft. thick for remaining at 20.00hrs.
NON-OPERATIONAL FLYING. Nil.
POSTINGS. The remaining New Zealand personnel on the Squadron, 9 offocers and 24 N.C.C’s, were posted to No. 28 A.C.H.U., R.A.F. Station, Wigaley pending repatriation.

WEATHER. Fog clearing to 4 miles 1t 13.00hrs. Variable amounts of low cloud – about 4-6/10 at 2,000ft. Visibility poor all day becoming cloudless at 18.00hrs.
NON-OPERATIONAL FLYING. Nil

WEATHER. Fog clearing at 8.00hrs. becoming fair with moderate visibility. Cloud mainly base 2,000ft, dispersing to nil by 20.00hrs.

WEATHER. Fair with moderate visibility, becoming cloudy (with 10/10 at 2,500ft.) and moderate visibility until 18.00hrs. when cloud dispersed to nil.

POSTINGS. F/Lt. M.W. Chadwick the Squadron Instructor and six N.C.O’s. Flight Engineer Instructors, were posted to R.A.F. Station Bruntingthorpe, leaving F/Lt. J.B.G King, Squadron Adjutant, as the only person on the strength of 75(N.Z.) Squadron.

WEATHER. Cloudy with moderate visibility, becoming cloudy with drizzle and poor visibility at 13.00hrs. Precipitation ceasing at 17.00hrs. with visibility improving.
